Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West to Open in January 2015
What started as a dream of former Scottsdale mayor Herb Drinkwater, has now completed in January 2015. The museum tells stories of not only the Old West, but the contemporary, and future west as well. The story covers the culture of 19 different states in the west. Collaborations on the project are Phoenix-based artist Bill Dambrova on interior display, Studio Ma on architecture, and Colwell Shelor Landscape Architecture. Both the interior and exterior of the museum are LEED Gold certified- featuring sustainable materials and energy efficiency.
