Nathaniel Kirby

NATHANIEL KIRBY, PLA, ASLA

An Arizona native with a deep passion for the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert and Southwest, Nathaniel Kirby is inspired by design which seamlessly integrates the complex cultural values of a region with the natural systems influencing it. Urban landscapes which create true meaning for a community or individual are what Nathaniel strives for in each project.

After graduating from Arizona State University in 2016 with a BSLA, Nathaniel took an internship in Thessaloniki, Greece. Here, he gained experience working with the client and community to deliver designs that correlate with their needs. Working in a new setting magnified the importance to deeply understand the intricacies of each project while implementing similar sustainable design strategies. Following this experience he joined the Colwell Shelor team while using these skills to various educational campus, streetscape and residential projects. He strives to continually learn, experiment and grow within the profession whether that involves collaboration with outside professions, construction documentation, field work or client relations.
